LAGAWE, Ifugao – The production of vegetable bread at the Ifugao District Jail (IDJ) in Kiangan will be sustained even there is change in leadership as some personnel are now trained how to bake.
The Department of Science and Technology based at Na-yon, Lamut conducted a two-day trainers’ training on veggie-bread production to some personnel of the IDJ at the Ifugao Technical Vocational High School.
The activity is a component of the Local Grants-in-Aid project entitled, “S&T intervention for the establishment of IDJ-Baddangan Organization’s bakery livelihood project.”
According to DOST-Ifugao, trained personnel of the IDJ will act as trainers of the IDJ organization to ensure the continuous operation of the project even if there are changes in officers and members.
The DOST-Ifugao earlier provided bakery machines/equipment to the IDJ to enhance the volume of production that would cater to the needs of jail officers and people deprived of liberty. – Marcelo B. Lihgawon
