The road to development continues in Tanudan, Kalinga, as the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), together with the provincial government of Kalinga, officially broke ground the Improvement of Banneng-Darulog-Bawac farm-to-market road on April 22.

The 6.168-kilometer FMR, worth P138.62 million, will cover Barangay Callaccad in Tabuk City, and barangays Dupligan and Lay-asan in Tanudan. It is expected to benefit 479 households within the area.

Kalinga Gov. Ferdinand B. Tubban stressed the involvement of the community in overseeing the implementation of the FMR subproject.

“I am calling for the community to involve yourselves in monitoring the road construction since you are the primary users and if there are concerns in regards the implementation, please reach out to the punong barangay or to the provincial office, so that it will be properly addressed,” he said.

Tubban thanked the members of the community for allowing their properties that will be affected by the road improvement to be included.

“We thank and we congratulate you for considering the greater benefit not only in this period, but in the coming years and in the next generations to come,” he added.

Representing DA Regional Executive Director Cameron P. Odsey, DA-CAR Information Officer Jovelyn Valenciano lauded the province for being a commendable implementer of DA-PRDP subprojects.

Present during the groundbreaking ceremony are the subproject beneficiaries, representatives from the project contractor and the DA-PRDP Regional Project Coordination Office-CAR, and provincial government officials.
