Kalinga has the second highest contribution in the production of yellow corn in the Cordillera in 2021.

Kalinga contributed 66,720 metric tons (MT) or a 31 percent share of the Cordillera’s 214,867 MT Philippine Statistics Authority estimate corn production from January to December 2021.

Kalinga achieved a 376 percent sufficiency level on yellow corn.

The province has a physical corn production area of 12,343 hectares, which are fully used during the rainy season based on the planting reports submitted by the local government units to the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera.

The major yellow corn producing municipalities are Tabuk City, Pinukpuk, Tanudan, and Rizal. Most of the corn interventions go to these municipalities, which also produce white corn, but primarily for home and/or local consumption.

Ifugao ranked first in yellow corn production with 73,711 MT while Apayao ranked third with a production of 30,349 MT.
