Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong issued a stern warning to communities along Kennon Road to follow minimum health protocols specifically wearing of face mask and face shield and observing physical distancing when going out of their homes.
“Otherwise, I will be compelled to require travelers from these communities to present swab test results before they enter the city,” the mayor warned.
The warning was prompted by his observation when he passed through Kennon Road last Feb. 4 where he saw and took pictures of residents not wearing face masks and violating distancing protocols.
He said he was furious that despite intensified reminders for the public to wear face mask and face shield before going out of their homes, a lot are still not wearing personal protective equipment while others are wearing their PPEs improperly.
Ordinance 45, s. 2020 imposes a fine of P1,000 on first offense on those who are not wearing a face mask while City Ordinance 46, s. 2020 imposes physical distancing in all activities in the City of Baguio with a fine of P500 on first offense.
Meanwhile, Executive Order 185 s. 2020 requires the use of face shield on top of face mask and covering fully one’s face, at all times, whenever going out of home in consonance with Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolution 88, s. 2020.
These protocols are being implemented to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 along with implementation of community quarantine. – Jessa Samidan
