The Philippine Statistics Authority Benguet will be conducting the nationwide January 2021 Labor Force Survey (LFS)/Commission on Higher Education school-to-work rider questions and the gender-sensitive Covid-19-related questions under the United Nations Women project.
The LFS is a nationwide quarterly survey of households to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It is aimed to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.
The CHED’s rider questions on the school-to-work transition aims to provide data support on the challenge to shorten the school-to-work transition and raise youth employment rate. It also aims to determine the impact of the Covid-19 on labor and school participation. This will be asked to household members 25 years old and above who are at least college level from 2010 onwards.
The UN Women’s rider questions, on the other hand, aims to collect data on the gender impacts or consequences of Covid-19.
Thirty-two barangays in Baguio City and 24 barangays in Benguet were selected as sample areas where statistical researchers will interview households from sample barangays.
An integrated computer aided data collection system will be employed for the January 2021 LFS/CHED and UN Women’s rider questions.
The enumeration period will be from Jan. 9 to 31.
Under Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, the household supplied information will be held strictly confidential and the report cannot be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or enforcement procedure, nor will be published except in the form of statistical summaries in which no reference to any individual person shall appear. The individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys and censuses of the PSA shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding. – Press release
