LAGAWE, Ifugao – The Municipal Fire Station here reported high collection of Fire Code revenues in just two months this year amid the pandemic.  

Lagawe Fire Station Information Officer FO1 Keith Bautista said their office collected a total of P504,130 comprising of P412,502 revenue for January and P91,628 for February as compared to the P540,504 total collections for the whole of 2020.

Bautista said they also inspected 653 buildings and establishments in the municipality for the first two months of 2021 as against the 677 total for the whole of 2020.

He said in their new normal regular duties under the Oplan Ligtas Pamayanan (OLP) on the Road, they have been going around barangays sharing fire safety awareness and tips.

For the first week of March, they gave lectures based on their OLP on the Road theme, “Mainit, ‘wag mag-iinit,” and held drills during the 2021 First Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.  

As a member of the Municipal Inter-agency Task Force against Covid-19, the MFS continues to deliver water rations for the use of the local government, Municipal Health Office, checkpoints, and the Municipal Action and General Service Office.

The Lagawe Fire Station has a total strength of 15 personnel led by SFO4 Ireneo Tilan Jr. but only 10 are manning the office since three are in school while two are assigned in Hingyon because the town has no fire station yet. – Daniel B. Codamon
