Manila-based runner Ritchi Estampador outpaced more than 50 runners to win the annual G-string marathon held at Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet on March 24.

Estampador crossed the finish line in 32 minutes and 35 seconds to clinch the overall title in the 10-kilometer cross country event.

He was followed by Ivetel Gatbola of Malolos, Bulacan, who clocked at 33:121 and David Kibet of Kenya at 33:38.

Estampador also topped the 20 to 29 years old age group followed by Gatbola and Dhem AJ Monton.

In the age group, Chesney Tatpi-ec placed first in the 19 and below followed by Lander Dionisio, and Bradleemor Ah-a while the 30 to 39 group was topped by Kibet followed by Jordan Chanao and Louwee Andro.

The 40 to 49 group was ruled by Requi Trupa followed by Jay Viloria, and Robert Arellano while Castro Cudli dominated the 50 and above group followed by Jeremias Rio.

The youngest participant at age nine was Evan Nabee while the oldest runner was Jeremias Rio at 61.

The event drew runners from Baguio, Benguet, Manila, and Ilocos Sur.

The top three overall finishers received trophies and cash awards with additional incentive to the top runner for having a new record in the event sponsored by Encam Agri-Marketing Omega Green, Philippine Sports Commission Baguio, Dap-ayan Restaurant, Lakas Loob Farm, and Baguio Walkens Club. – Juleus Payaket
