Mayor Benjamin Magalong lauded the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI) and partners from both the public and private sectors for the successful staging of the Panagbenga 2022.
“Despite the absence of the crowd-drawing events, the festival was very successful. I congratulate all the sectors especially the BFFFI executive committee for doing an amazing job despite the many challenges they faced,” the mayor said.
“It was all about commitment and dedication to produce a very memorable and exciting event and the entire team of the executive committee delivered. Thank you. You’re the best,” the mayor said.
The mayor expressed hope that next year can be Panagbenga’s banner year as the pandemic is seen to wane further.
“We hope to restore all the events and even add more as we did some innovations now that also proved at par with the standards of the festival. We can do so much more,” he said.
City Tourism Officer Aloysius Mapalo said the festival which did not have public staging for two years due to the pandemic had been sorely missed judging from the crowd that the events drew.
Tourist registrations and arrivals had also surged for the whole duration.
Panagbenga opened last March 6 with a special edition that featured its traditional activities except the crowd-drawing parades. It also had added features which drew local and visiting spectators.  – Aileen P. Refuerzo
