Mayor Benjie Magalong has observed the lack of discipline and mindfulness in the disposal of trash in the city in the past days thus he ordered Baguio City Police Office City Director Col. Allen Co to launch an aggressive anti-littering drive effective Dec. 28.
He asked the police to arrest those who indiscriminately dispose garbage.
He also asked restaurants and business establishments in the city to observe the proper time to bring out their trash.
Violators will be dealt with accordingly.
“Our city is overwhelmed with trash this holiday season hence I am asking for your cooperation,” the mayor said.
The mayor is also mulling to propose to the city council the passage of Ordinances that would impose congestion and environmental fees to tourists. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
