LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – The Kalinga Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-Elcac) continues to conduct community consultation and serbisyo caravan to barangays affected by the communist insurgency problem.

Led by Gov. James Edduba, the task force revisited the remote village of Tanglag here on April 19 to consult with the community and bring free services like medical and dental consultations and hair grooming.

This was the second government caravan to the area with the task force member-agencies providing updates on interventions and projects that have been implemented and reaffirming their commitments to address the community’s needs and bridging any gaps in services.

Lubuagan Municipal Administrator James Tagaotao urged the community to bring their issues and needs to the government, not to the other side.

“Various government interventions have been given to Tanglag and we hope that you continue to support the anti-insurgency campaign,” Tagaotao said.

Lubuagan Police Chief, Cpt. Manuel Sabado called on the community to help put an end to insurgency to pave the way for the implementation of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP).

The RCSP aims to address the issues identified by the communities through the provision of government projects while ensuring sustainable development and promoting peace.

During the consultation, the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Kalinga said 90 senior citizens in Tanglag will benefit in the social pension which increased from P500 to P1,000.

Also, the Food-for-Work program this year will benefit all 135 households in the village.

Meanwhile, the Kalinga Lumin-awa Medical Team provided free medical and dental services to the residents, and medicines to the barangay health station. Police personnel also provided free haircut.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines conducted a youth leadership seminar on April 20 attended by over 100 members of the local Katipunan ng Kabataan and other youth organizations in Kalinga.

The PTF-Elcac earlier held a community consultation and offered range of services for free to the residents of Colayo in Pasil on April 16.
