BONTOC, Mountain Province – The provincial government has lined up series of events in celebration of the 120th Civil Service anniversary this September.
Among the activities include the Linggo ng Lingkod Bayan, which opened on Sept. 1 in which employees of the provincial government who were appointed from January to August were sworn into office.
Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Leonila Milagrose Malla-ao said the Linggo ng Yamang Tao begins on Sept. 7 with the CSC provincial office sponsoring the flag-raising ceremony.
The highlight for the week will be the “Salute to the Frontline Personnel of the PLGU” wherein the provincial government will honor frontliners for their valuable efforts in the province’s fight against Covid-19.
Sept. 14 to 18 is designated as Linggo ng Malasakit. Each office will allot a day for general cleaning of the workplace and premises.
There will be a six-kilometer walk from the Bontoc provincial plaza to Sukit on Sept. 17 where participants will pick non-biodegradable waste along the way. The activity is dubbed “A walk for my health and my environment.”
The last week is designated as Linggo ng Pasasalamat that will feature Provincial Government Employees’ Family Day. Each office will select a day to bond and promote camaraderie among co-workers while observing health protocols.
Mallao said in keeping with the health protocols as precautionary measures against Covid-19, there would be limited participants in the activities.
She added that since Bontoc has a very poor Internet signal, it is not feasible to conduct virtual events which are now part of the new normal.
Nonetheless, all government personnel are reminded that they are civil servants and they are in it together in this celebration. – PIA release
