The Department of Trade and Industry-CAR with its six offices in the Cordillera in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Training Center offered a five-day online training and webinar as part of the National MSME Week 2020.
The online training participated by various micro, small to medium entrepreneurs tackled measures to support MSMEs and enhance their resiliency and sustainability.
Highlighting on public and private sector response to the pandemic, the training discussed business support, operations continuity, protection of workers’ rights, and innovative market-based approaches and solutions to help MSMEs recover and promote their participation in economic activities.
DTI offices in Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province served as the venue for participating MSMEs.
The DTI-CAR Baguio-Benguet offices served as regional host for the blended modality forum for stakeholders and MSMEs held at the multipurpose hall of the Baguio City Hall.
The activity was also part of the Cordillera Month series of investment fora in collaboration with the regional offices of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Tourism, Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, and Regional Development Council with resource persons from service providers such as Lazada Philippines, Food Panda, and PayMaya.
The forum on investments opportunities on e-commerce platforms, logistics and FinTech for Cordillera MSMEs was streamed live over the social media pages of DTI. The second part of the forum will be on July 29 focusing on business resiliency. – Press release
