Now that I am nearing my senior or “20 percent discount” years, one of the items in this near-sighted Ibaloy writer’s bucketlist that has not yet been checked is learning to play a musical instrument, especially the guitar, drums or saxophone. I am a huge music fan.
I remember back in the 1970s, the BeeGees, Eagles, and Abba were all the rage; 1980s was when I fell under the spell of Metallica, AC/DC, and Aerosmith. I also listened to the music of Prince, Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen.
In the 90s there was Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and other grunge acts.
I hate to admit it but I also did like some of the music produced by “boy bands” like Backstreet Boys and NSync.
In the 2000s, I was even more eclectic in my choices of music ranging from metal to rap to jazz to blues to K-pop and even Viking and Tibetan music (singing bowls).
Of course, my all time favorites are the Beatles (international) and local bands Eraserheads and Asin.
Even now, whether at home or at work, I try listening to music. It calms my nerves and makes living in our beautiful archipelago of delicious coconuts, smiling carabaos and greedy political dynasties more bearable and palatable.

The city council confirmed the memorandum of agreement between the city government and Sunsmart Solar Power Technology Inc. for the conduct of a proof of concept (POC) for the electrification of streets in the city through hybrid technological solutions with possible integration of artificial intelligence of things (AIOT).
As stated in the agreement, the POC would be conducted for three months and would entail no additional cost to the city and that the use of the equipment would be temporarily turned over for the use of the city free of charge with only counterpart obligations.
These include: Identify the practical and most viable location where the systems will be installed; provide the necessary ground personnel and equipment; provide and assign a local technical person to Sunsmart to coordinate and liase; and more.
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continue to bless and keep us all safe.
