The country’s top female darter, Giselle Bulahao of Tuba, Benguet, was recently named as the Chris Sports Lady Darter of the Year 2023 for winning 18 championship titles, five second place titles, four top four placements, and one top eight placement.   

Bulahao of the Team Kumpadres-Adan Builders Co. was recognized by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP) for garnering a total of 1,257 ranking points after completing a total of 28 ladies singles events for the year.

Bulahao received an NDFP plaque of achievement and a cash prize of P10,000 from NDFP’s corporate partner, Chris Sports.

One of her international outings includes ruling the Malaysian Open and Johor Open 2023 ladies’ singles titles in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia in October 2023. She defeated Indian national champion Mahi Bosmia, 3-0, during the finals of the Malaysian Open.

Based on the latest NDFP ladies national quarterly ranking from the 102 ladies’ singles events conducted from April 2022 to December 2023, Bulahao was on the top spot with a total of 1,767 points.

She competed in 51 ladies’ singles events and brought home 30 championship titles since April 2022.

Robson-Davao City’s Jan-Jan Hinojales also maintained her number two rank with 1,252 points gathered from 37 ladies’ singles placements, 10 of which are championship titles. 

On top three is Ging Ansale of Team Pacman/GMD after closing the quarter with 982 points coming from a total of 44 Ladies Singles events placements of which 14 are Championship titles.

Mymy Santos of Taytay remains at rank four with 737 points. Since April 2022, Santos has eight championship titles out of 21 placements in ladies’ singles events.

Also getting on the top eight cream of the crop in the NDFP ladies ranking is Layden De Jesus of Team Kuku from Baguio City on fifth spot with 664 points; Bebang Orbeta of DOT-Manila with 574 points; Aileen Oclarit of BCDA-Butuan City with 535 points; and Ging Ricarte of General Santos City with 391 points.
