A new building for Baguio City Police Office Station 9 will soon rise in Purok 12, Irisan barangay, a more strategic location for the police to respond promptly to incidents and a better facility to cater to the public.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 7 at the 300-square-meter lot that was donated by Irisan barangay, exemplifying a strong spirit of collaboration between the police and the community.
BCPO Director, Col. Francisco Bulwayan, Jr. thanked those who contributed to the success of the lot acquisition for the police station, namely Barangay Irisan, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Engineering Office, City Planning, Development, and Sustainability Office, Department of the Environment and Natural Resources-Cordillera, Police Regional Office-Cordillera, and city government of Baguio.
“I am filled with gratitude that our city police office has been given the opportunity to generate and construct a police station which is of prime quality,” he said.
During the ceremony, PRO-Cor Chief Regional Logistics Resource and Development Division, Col. Reguel B. Santamaria, provided an overview of the project and presented the proposed design and budget for the construction of the station.
In a message delivered by City Mayor’s Office staff Benjamin Macadangdang, Mayor Benjamin Magalong emphasized the spirit of partnership and collaboration toward a common goal of a safe and secured Baguio.
“With the construction of this new facility, we are not only providing our dedicated police officers with necessary resources they need to carry out their duties effectively, but we are also reaffirming our commitment for the safety and well-being of the citizens of Baguio City,” Magalong said.
The event marked another significant milestone in BCPO’s history as it is the first groundbreaking ceremony done on the property named under PNP-BCPO, which is committed to enhance its facilities and infrastructure to improve its operational capabilities and provide better services to the community. – Press release
