Nutrition concerns continue to be a priority for barangay health advocates and the local government unit despite pandemic circumstances.
The city will launch activities for the month-long city-wide celebration on July 5 during the flag raising ceremonies at City Hall, City Nutrition Action Officer (CNAO) Angelita Sabado said.
Nutrition talking points will be discussed by local health advocates in several radio programs and a media forum starting July 7 to drum up support for the celebration anchored on the theme, “Malnutrisyon patuloy na labanan, first 1,000 days, tutukan!”  
Contestants singing original compositions either in English or ethnic languages will be judged in the regional level virtually on June 15. City level contestants per integrated health districts will be judged on July 12 in coordination with barangay officials and the barangay nutrition committee.  
A nutrition agri-fair will be held on July 16 to 18 at the Igorot Park.
Also being planned is an interpretative dance contest of the original composition of Barangay Nutrition Scholar Remy Martinez, “Duyan ng Pagmamahal.”
In partnership with the Baguio Nutrition Council, the Mountain Province Mission is sponsoring the “Loaves of love,” offering of bread and coffee for pregnant women every Sunday this month at their office at Navy Base. A gift-giving and subsidiary feeding on July 11 and healthy food showcase on July 25 will also be held at their office.
Storytelling; survival gardens, cleanest eatery and weight loss contests; community pantry, multi-vitamin and seed distribution, bloodletting, livelihood seminars, infant diaper distribution and tree planting are among the activities in the barangays.     
Men’s fair, community feeding; nutri-lectures; pregnant and lactating mothers, family Tik-Tok, poster, slogan, poem-making, healthy baby, cooking contests; nutritious food processing demonstration, will be held up to the culminating program on Aug. 5. 
Winners of the different competitions, service awardees, best performing barangays will be feted on the same day at the Baguio Convention Center.– Julie G. Fianza
