Police arrested 13 individuals for illegal gambling, four for illegal drugs, and burned P13.2 million worth of dried marijuana in Kibungan, Benguet.
Those arrested for illegal gambling on April 21 are Laureano B. Vasquez, Romnick N. Laureta, Abel D. Patalay, and four women at Zone 4, Bangued Abra.
Seized from the suspects are one set of mahjong tiles, one deck playing cards, and P1,025 bet money.
At Barbero Heights, Zone 7, Bangued, police accosted Valerio B. Balubar, Rowell B. Bragas, Romeo P. Pico, and Joel B. Puruganan for playing cards. Two sets of playing cards and bet money amounting to P1,205 were confiscated during the operation.
Last April 19, police destroyed P13.2M worth of illegal drugs and two suspects were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation.
Operatives burned P3.2M worth marijuana plants at Sitio Ganga, Poblacion, Kibungan, which they uprooted on site. They also discovered 10 sacks dried marijuana leaves and stalks weighing 110 kilos. Only samples were taken for qualitative examination.
Meanwhile, Eric Laurian Tiangga, 33, a native of Bakun, Benguet, and a resident of Windy Hill, Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet was caught in a buy-bust operation at Sitio Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad in the afternoon of April 21.
Confiscated from Tiangga were a sachet of suspected shabu, P3,500 boodle money, and a cellular phone.
On the evening of the same day, police arrested Jason Vida Alejandro for possession of illegal drugs when he was cornered along the intersection of Balsigan and Palispis Highway.
Taken from him were three transparent plastic sachets containing suspected dried marijuana leaves. – Press release
