Four hundred thirty-nine child development workers (CDWs) in Benguet have received P5,000 assistance or a total of P2,195,000 from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
CWDs are among the barangay workers given yearly financial assistance provided in Ordinance 15-172 approved on June 2015 and amended in 2018.
The financial assistance is an incentive for their efforts in community building.
Of the amount, Atok was given P100,000 for 20 CDWs; Bakun with P115,000 for 23 CDWs; Bokod, P185,0000 for 37 CDWs; Buguias, P145,000 for 29 CDWs; Itogon, P225,000 for 45 CDWs; Kabayan, P110,000 for 22 CDWs; Kapangan, P225,000 for 45 CDWs; Kibungan P145,000 for 29 CDWs; La Trinidad, P300,000 for 60 CDWs; Mankayan, P280,000 for 56 CDWs; Sablan, P40,000 for eight CDWs; Tuba, P185,000 for 37 CDWs; and Tublay, P140,000 for 28 CDWs.
Gov. Melchor Diclas hopes to increase the assistance for the CDWs if there are more funds.
