The bidding for two major infrastructure projects worth P502 million within the Athletic Bowl complex will take place next month.
The two projects are the indoor sports complex that includes a youth convergence center and the four-story parking and VIP lounge near the swimming pool, according to City Sports Coordinator Gaudencio Gonzales.
Gonzales said the construction of the facilities would further boost the performance of Baguio athletes, who have been reaping medals not only for the region but also for the country in the global stage.
The five-story green indoor sports facility will feature a parking area for 50 to 60 vehicles on the first floor; a youth convergence center on the second floor; an indoor sports complex on the third and fourth floors; and a basketball and bowling complex on the top floor.
City Administrator Bonifacio dela Peña earlier said the budget for the indoor sports facility was cut from P434M to P392M due to some improvements on the design but claimed the plans for the sports facility will not be affected.
The four-story parking and VIP lounge worth P110M will give a good view of the track and field events at the Athletic Bowl.
Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president Levy Lloyd Orcales, welcomed the impending bidding of the projects since the SKF will have a whole floor as a convergence center.
