LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – PBA Motoclub defeated the Yap-Benguet All Star, 106-95, at the Benguet Sports Complex in Wangal last week as a fitting conclusion to the Cong. Eric  Go  Yap Congressional Cup.

Benguet’s only lease came a little more than three minutes of play, took a 15-13 lead, which Motoclub tied with a Jerwin Gaco basket.

Sunday Salvacion gave Motoclub an 18-15 lead in the ensuing play. Then Armando Pollante blocked Gaco, took the ball and tried a dunk but failed. Will Kean Lee was there, however, for the rebound and like a ballet dancer made the put back for an 18-17 Motoclub lead.

Motoclub closed with an 8-0 run for a 26-17 lead at the end of the first canto.

Jojo Cunanan made it a 29-17 lead early in the second quarter just when Rep. Eric Yap started playing for the Benguet squad.

Benguet made a 10-0 run to cut the lead to 12, 50-38, but Gary David exploded from the deep and sank a 12 footer for a 55-38 Motoclub lead. Kyle Naisod then drained a triple for a 55-41 Motoclub halftime lead.

Will Keane Lee started the third with canto with five straight points then Pollante’s jumper made it a seven game affair and a 56-51 Motoclub lead.

Lee then made it a 65-61 affair, the closest Benguet could get, but five straight points for Motoclub bubbled the lead at 70-61.

The former PBA stars then mounted a 14-8 run for an 84-69 at the end of the third quarter.

David led Motoclub with 28 points, Canaleta had a 19-13 points- rebound performance while de Ocampo finished with 13 markers, nine of which came in the first three minutes of play.

John Rey Buenaventura led Benguet with 16 points, while Congressional Cup Finals MVP Pollante added 13. – Press release
