The Philippine Military Academy conducted the incorporation rites for the PMA Class 2024 at the Borromeo Field, Fort del Pilar on July 26.
Team PMA, led by Supt. Vice Admiral Allan Ferdinand V. Cusi,  welcomed and honored Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Felimon Santos, who charged all upper class cadets to lead their plebes with moral uprightness guided by the sacred ideals of courage, integrity, and loyalty.
He reminded them to lead in the true meaning and spirit of the Honor Code and to set the best examples to them at all times.
Santos was rendered a testimonial parade and review in recognition of his more than 38 years of outstanding, dedicated, and selfless service to the nation.
Cusi said despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the Academy must rise to the challenges and strive on with its mission of molding and inspiring future leaders for the Motherland. “In order to do so, many adjustments and modifications were made in line with the new normal, to include the traditional conduct of ceremonies and activities such as the Incorporation Rites that PMA and its alumni have been used to,” he said.
Addressing the fourth class cadets, Cusi said it has been almost two months since they first entered the hallowed grounds of the Academy. “From that very first moment, many of you still do not fully understand the magnitude of the responsibilities placed on your shoulders as plebes. Now, you were officially incorporated as true members of the Cadet Corps Armed Forces of the Philippines. May you continue to strive with the training and life in the Academy.” he said.
He also commended them and their training directorate for having successfully hurdled the new cadet battalion training despite the many challenges brought about by the pandemic, as well as for implementing the reforms in the Academy’s training and education systems. – Press release
