BANGUED, Abra –The Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Abra Chapter is calling on the public to donate blood of all types to have enough supply of blood units for those in need.
PRC-Abra Chapter Administrator Ivy Venus Avendaño said there is a need for eligible individuals to donate now and help save lives as blood units are distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in.
Interested donors may visit the office of PRC-Abra Chapter at corners Taft-Washington streets, Zone 6 here.
Avendaño encouraged all interested donors to get enough rest, drink adequate water, and have proper food intake a day before their scheduled donation.
“Donors will be examined in terms of body temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and hemoglobin level to ensure that they are fit to donate,” Avendaño said.
PRC-Abra also continues rolling out its mobile blood drive activities in the municipalities to acquire more blood units.– Christian Allister G. Tubadeza
