The city council asked the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to update stakeholders about its plans in the conduct of Early Childhood Care Development (ECCD) in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a resolution, the council said that parents of children aged three and a half to four years need to be apprised about the plans of the CSWDO so they can prepare in sending their children to an early childhood care program.

The Department of Education announced earlier that classes shall open on Aug. 24 using various modalities such as distance learning and blended learning.

However, according to the resolution, the CSWDO and the Department of Social Welfare and Development have not yet given any announcement on how the ECCD shall be conducted.

To shed light on the matter, the city council invited the CSWDO in one of its council sessions. – Jordan G. Habbiling
