BANGUED, Abra – Abrenians no longer have go to other provinces or wait for at least a week to acquire civil registry documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
The PSA opened the Civil Registration System (CRS) outlet at DZPA Building, Zone 6 in this capital town.
The CRS outlet was blessed by Fr. David Mark Taverner on Dec. 1.
Abrenians usually go to Ilocos Sur where the nearest CSR outlet is located for their civil registry documents.
PSA-Abra used to accept clients’ requests here but they have to wait for seven to 10 days since processing is at the Baguio City CRS outlet.
The opening of the CRS outlet in Bangued reduces time to request for certificate of live birth, marriage certificate, death certificate, and certificate of no marriage (Cenomar) from seven to 10 days to just 30 minutes.
PSA-Abra Chief Statistical Specialist Felixberto Perdido said application fee for certificate of live birth, certificate of marriage, or certificate of death is P155 while P210 for Cenomar.
Abra is the first province in the Cordillera to open a CRS outlet. – Christian Tubadeza
