One of the male cadavers recovered in La Trinidad, Benguet last week has been identified by a relative, five days after it was found in a ravine at Lamut, Beckel.
The body was positively identified by the foster son who went to the La Trinidad Municipal Station (LTMPS) to inquire about the found cadaver.
LTMPS Chief, Maj. Cleff Vencio, said the foster son identified the body as Jeoffrey Guevarra, 60, a native of Mindoro and resident of Kayang, Hilltop, Baguio City.
The 22-year-old foster son said Guevarra has been missing for almost a week prompting him to go to the police station.
Vencio said they are yet to conduct an autopsy on the body, pending the decision of the family.
“So far, Guevarra has no police records. We are still determining the cause of his death,” he said.
Along with the body of Guevarra, the body of taxi driver Johnny Rabang, 55, was also found in the morning of Feb. 27 at Lamtang Road in Puguis, also in La Trinidad.
Rabang was a drug surrenderer in Baguio.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds in his lower extremities and in his head.
The taxi that he was driving was also found a few meters where he was found.
Vencio said the crime or killing was not committed in the areas where the bodies were dumped, based on the Scene of the Crime Operatives report. – Ofelia C. Empian
