Baguio City continues to solidify its status as the educational capital of the north with its achievement in the latest licensure examinations for nurses.
Saint Louis University and La Trinidad-based Benguet State University ranked first in the November 2022 licensure examination for nurses after garnering a 100 percent passing rate with a handful of its examinees landing on the list of top 10 passers.
The Philippine Regulation Commission announced on Nov. 30 that 18,529 out of 24,903 passed the nurse licensure exam given by the Board of Nursing in Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
In the list of top 10 performing schools nationwide released by PRC, among the 19 schools that landed on top one are SLU with 399 examinees and BSU with 127 examinees all passing the licensure exam or a 100 percent passing rate.
SLU also produced 11 examinees and four from BSU who garnered the 10 highest places in the exam.
Top 10 placers from SLU are Melchor Pimentel Jr. who ranked second with 89.80 percent rating; Reina Martinez, rank 4, 89.40 percent; Jamie Renee Martinez, rank 7, 89 percent; Karen Daoay, rank 7, 88.80 percent; Precious Mamaril, rank 7, 88.80 percent; Kyla Nicole Sese, rank 8, 88.60 percent; Maranatha Raquel Buenaventura, rank 9, 88.40 percent; David Audrey Dulay, rank 9, 88.40 percent; Patrick John Formoso, rank 9, 88.40 percent; Yessamin Guadiz, rank 9, 88.40 percent; and Eeña Cassandra Mercado, rank 9, 88.40 percent.
For BSU, top-notchers are Krixanne Gywneth Colas, rank 7, 88.80 percent; Karla Karina dela Cruz, rank 7, 88.80 percent; Janille Beray, rank 9, 88.40 percent; and Stefanie Banawa, rank 10, 88.20 percent.
The Commission on Higher Education-Cordillera, in its official social media account, congratulated both schools and the 15 top performing examinees.
BSU, also in its social media account, congratulated its passers as well as their parents and the whole BSU College of Nursing headed by its dean, Prof. Vicente Panagan Jr. “on another stellar performance that once again brought honor and pride not only to BSU but also to Benguet and the Cordillera.” – Hanna C.
