Donations received by SM City Baguio have been turned over to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center and Benguet General Hospital.
Through SM City Baguio’s Bears of Joy and The SM Store’s Share-A-Toy programs, 200 bears and 500 toys were turned over to BGHMC Advisory Board represented by Chair Ramlabhaya Sharma, and advisory board special project committee chairperson Stella de Guia in front of the Baguio Museum. The donations will be given and distributed to the chosen benefactors such as BGHMC and indigent communities.
For BeGH, 117 bears and 460 toys were given to Chief of Hospital Maria Imelda C. Ulep and nurses working at the pediatric unit.
The Bears of Joy is a long-running charity program of SM Cares, SM Supermalls, and Toy Kingdom which aims to give children in need bear plushies to spread the holiday cheers. The bears donated feature designs inspired by the four of the most common interests and hobbies that many Filipinos took up significantly during the pandemic: Cookie the Baker Bear, Sunny the Plant Lover Bear, Cammy the Vlogger Bear, and Journey the Biker Bear.
TSS’ Share-A-Toy is a program that starts mid-November to the end of December, and encourages customers to spread the joyous season by donating new or pre-loved toys at their designated booths in all the branches nationwide. For every donation, shoppers received a P50 discount coupon. The toys will be collected, sorted, and donated to selected beneficiaries. – Press release
