Renewable energy solutions provider SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) Group’s Benguet and Magat units were recognized by the Department of Energy’s Safety and Health Association of Philippine Energy Sector (Shapes) for their exemplary safety and health practices.

Under the Corporate Safety and Health Excellence Award category, SNAP-Benguet’s Ambuklao and Binga plants bagged the Titanium Award, while the Magat and Maris Hydroelectric Power Plants (HEPPs) received the Gold and Silver awards, respectively.

The Titanium Award is given to companies that have qualified for having recorded seven years or 15 million manhours without Lost Time Accident (LTA).

The gold award qualifier is five years or 10 million manhours without LTA while the silver award ranges from three years or five million manhours without LTA.

SNAP’s Ambuklao and Binga HEPPs have 5,190,436 million man-hours as of November and eight to nine years with no lost time incident (LTI).

The Magat and Maris HEPPs have logged a total of 2,005,069 million manhours with no LTI.

The group’s high value on safety was further validated by the company’s safety professional awardees who were instrumental in implementing safety and health policies that enabled the company to achieve zero LTI.

SNAP HEPPs have been recognized by Shapes on multiple occasions over the years for its implementation of global-standard health and safety practices in their operations. – Press release
