A lineup of sports events will be featured in the month-long celebration of the Strawberry Festival in La Trinidad, Benguet this month.

From March 8 to 10 would be the sta-ging of the P300,000 National Darts Tournament at the Adivay Sports Bar sanctioned by the National Darts Federation of the Philippines (NDFP).

March 9 is the annual Strawberry fun run dubbed “Duting tan dukto” (strawberry and sweet potato) from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. from the municipal park and around the municipality.

The event, organized by Adivay Sports Bar in partnership with the municipality, is a NDFP national ranking acti-           vity with eight categories for all ages.

It is also backed by the Cordillera Darts League and the Robson Sportscraft, the latter giving a P10,000 cash prize to the nine-darter athlete, aside from cash prizes and trophies for winners in each category.

A two-day Strawberry Fest 4×4 Challenge is also set on March 16 to 17 at Palmaville, Puguis organized by the Baguio-Benguet 4×4 Club and Response Team.

Barangay Ambiong is also taking part in the celebration with its second staging of the G-string marathon on March 24.

The adrenaline-pumping action downhill race is set to gather bike enthusiasts at the Puguis communal forest organized by Team Ulaw.

The fifth staging of the event features these categories: 17 and below/beginners, 18 to 25/aggressive, 26 to 35/competitive, 36 to 45/semi-retired, 45 and above/retired, women’s, and open.

Registration fee is P600, with meal and shirt for the first 100 registrants.

Registration is until March 20. There will be no onsite registration.  

Interested participants may register at A.S. Bikeshop, Acki Bikeshop, BiKEiatrist, and Lagalag Baguio.

The Junior Chamber International-Baguio-La Trinidad-Itogon-Sablan-Tuba-Tublay chapter will also conduct a “rise and ride bike and auto show on March 23 and 24.
