The celebration of the Baguio Spring Festival or Chinese Lunar New Year will be launched in a program on Feb. 5, 8 a.m. at the City Hall grounds.

The celebration will run from Feb. 5 until the Chinese New Year proper on Feb. 10 with various traditional activities spearheaded by the city government under Mayor Benjamin Magalong and the Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community.

Magalong and Rep. Marquez Go will deliver messages during the launching program which will feature the Lion Dance presentation and trivia, among others.

The program will usher in the activities lined up for the festival to run from Feb. 5 to Feb. 13.

On Feb. 7, 6 p.m., a media fellowship night will be held at the Hotel Supreme.

The traditional gift-sharing program will benefit indigent residents of barangays Ambiong and San Antonio Village on Feb. 9.           

At 10 p.m. on Feb. 9, an evening mass will be held at 10 p.m. at the Bell Church.

Session Road will take on the Little Chinatown appearance on Feb. 11 in line with the celebration.  

On Feb. 13, the grand colorful parade will happen at 1 p.m. along Session Road.

A dinner awards night highlighted by the awarding of outstanding citizens will cap the week-long celebration. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
