LAGAWE, Ifugao – The public is being enjoined to help in disseminating the right information and stay calm in dealing with the Coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) to avoid panic.
The call is part of the information education campaign against coronavirus initiated by the Covid-19 provincial task force, which was recently organized by Gov. Jerry Dalipog.
Dalipog chairs the task force with acting Provincial Health Officer Priscilla Pagada as vice chairperson.
The task force will develop a prevention control plan in consonance with the Department of Health policies and guidelines, conduct disease surveillance and res-pond to any health emergency within the province, and provide leadership in organizing and coordinating a team’s effort for health emergency.
It will also provide technical assistance to implementing agencies, maintain supplies and logistics needed in the conduct of surveillance and emergency response, conduct monitoring and case investigation in the community, and other related activities.
The task force reiterated the observance of coughing and sneezing etiquette, washing of hands, eating nutritious foods, staying hydrated, boosting one’s immune system, and refraining from going to crowd-drawing events to avoid the risk of being infected with the Covid-19, previously called the 2019 novel coronavirus or nCoV.
Members of the task force are lines agencies and provincial department heads, chief of hospitals, healthcare providers and chair of the sangguniang panlalawigan committee on health.
The municipal health offices in the province have also intensified their information campaign on Covid-19 especially on the basic preventive measures.
To date, there are no persons under monitoring or person under investigation for the Covid-19 in Ifugao. – Marcelo B. Lihgawon
