NATONIN, Mountain Province – Twenty-six Senior High School teachers under the technical-vocational-livelihood track in this municipality gained new knowledge and skills as participants in the training on veggie-bread production with current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP).

The training was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology, through the Provincial Science and Technology Office-Mountain Province at the Natonin Stand-Alone Senior High School in Poblacion.

It consisted of a lecture in CGMP by Kevin A. Angadol of DOST-Mountain Province and a hands-on activity by Gretchen B. Paleg, a DOST-accredited trainer on baking and food processing.

In the hands-on training, Paleng taught the participants how to bake vegetable breads and cinnamon.

The teachers thanked the trainers and DOST for the newly acquired skill and knowledge.

Paleg said she was expecting community members as participants but she is happy the teachers have positive feedback on the training.

“Kunak nu haan da nga interesado ngem idi met in one-on-one ko isuda, nakitak met nga kayat da pay. Kurangen da pay jay aldaw,” she said.

The training was part of the project entitled “Science, Technology and Innovation Intervention for the Municipality of Natonin, Mountain Province”, which aims to empower and improve the living conditions of geographically isolated areas in the municipality through the provision of appropriate science and technology interventions. – Valerie Taguba
