Asia’s premiere mixed martial arts group, Team Lakay, has helped in distributing relief goods in various towns of Benguet.
Team Lakay chair Mark Sangiao led his fighters including former ONE Championship lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang in the donation drive foremost to their fellow gym members who are in need.
“Those that we have collected will be going to some of our members who are short of supplies right now, while also focusing on other barangays in La Trinidad and Baguio City,” Sangiao said.
He said they also extended their relief operation to residents who are in need in La Trinidad and Baguio, where most of their multi-awarded athletes are living.
In partnership with Benguet caretaker Eric Yap of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support party-list, the squad converted the Lakay Central Gym as a temporary center for distributing relief goods.
Sangiao said they will be giving out another batch of goods in the coming weeks.
He said they are also pooling their resources with fellow Team Lakay members who wanted to extend help to the community in need.
