Tourism activities in Kabayan remain suspended while the Covid -19 pandemic persists.
Mayor Faustino Aquisan said tourist destinations like the Kabayan mummies and the famed Mt. Pulag are closed maybe until December.
He said the halt in tourism activities adversely affected the town’s economy but the local government has to follow the decisions of concerned agencies.
In the case of Mt. Pulag, decision to reopen the area for tourism should involve not just the local government but also the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Tourism, Aquisan said in an online news briefing moderated by Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Martin Andanar.
The highest peak in Luzon, Mt. Pulag is favorite destination of mountain climbers and adventurers. – PIA
