BONTOC, Mountain Province – Garbage collectors and pipefitters/plumbers who are regular employees of this municipality will receive their hazard pay soon.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Mountain Province gave favorable review to Ordinance 313-2019, which grants hazard pay to regular employees of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (Menro) and Municipal Waterworks Office.   
Qualified personnel will receive P1,000 as hazard pay per month. 
The ordinance covers personnel of Menro and Municipal Waterworks Office who are directly engaged in jobs with a high risk of exposure to health hazards.
Personnel who got sick due to their exposure to the hazards of their jobs and have been reassigned to other duties and tasks are also covered.
Qualified Menro and Municipal Waterworks Office personnel, regardless of their rank or salary grade, will receive the same amount. 
Personnel doing administrative works, those who went on leave for five consecutive days of the month, and those who incurred unauthorized leave of absence are not qualified for the hazard pay.
The sangguniang bayan passed the ordinance in recognition of the risks faced by garbage collectors and the Municipal Waterworks personnel in the disposition of their duties. – Alpine L. Killa
