Seasoned Baguio golfer Dai Tsuchiya has emerged as champion in the men’s open of the Camp John Hay Golf Club Championship 2024 while Philex top honcho Euls Austin topped the seniors open.

The match play tournament that started on March 12 saw the participation of top golfers who are members of the CJHGC, who saw action in nine divisions.

Tsuchiya won over Frankie Miranda while Austin was the better golfer in his finals match against Rudy Lockey.

The men’s division and the senior’s championship drew most single handicap players, or those who are considered the creams of the crop.

Retired police general Andrew Cayad won over Dennis Garcia to top the men’s division 2 while Jojo Nicolas ruled the seniors division against Larry Mendoza.

The division has gathered players with handicap index of 10 to 15.9.

Fresh from his first hole-in-one, Nestor Fongwan, Jr. topped the men’s division 3 against Joseph de Leon while Korean golfer Shin Sun Young has emerged the ladies champion against fellow Korean Oh Kyung Ja.

Dina Eden won as champion in ladies open 2 against Meldz Cortez while Carl Rabanes has won the dependents division against Zyrah De Leon.
