The city government commended the University of the Cordilleras (UC) dance squad for emerging as the national champion in various categories in the recently concluded 2024 National Cheerleading Competition held on March 24 at the Phi-lippine Sports Arena in Pasig City.

In a resolution, the city council stated the UC dance squad continues to uphold the legacy of excellence and keeps the torch shining bright for the higher education institution and the city with the honor and pride it brought to the city.

It added the group’s win fortifies the stature of the city as the home where talents and skills are honed to perfection.

The National Cheerleading Competition is an annual one-day event in cheerleading founded in 2004 featuring the best cheerleading teams from different parts of the country.

For this year, the competition was held on March 24, at the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The UC dance squad emerged as champions in various categories such as College Group Stunts Level 5, College All-Girl Jazz, Senior Mixed Jazz, Open Pom Pair and Senior Jazz Par and College Group Stunts Level 6.

The council added the same commendation and esteemed honor be extended to UC for its continuing support to the programs that reinforce the city’s recognition as the Creative City for Crafts and Folk Arts. – PIO release
