City officials requested the City Health Services Office (CHSO) to make available at all times a wheelchair at the City Hall clinic.

The wheelchair will help the public, like senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), when transacting with the various offices of the city government.

Under Resolution 276, s. 2022, the city council said the availability of a wheelchair within the premises of the City Hall is a proactive effort in ensuring the convenience of clients and the public. It can also be used in cases of emergency.

The city council resolution added a clinic nurse should always be available at the City Hall clinic to respond to emergency situations that may transpire or when employees and the transacting public need services of the clinic.

It added the City Hall is frequented by the public for various reasons and transactions and such assistive device must always be available at the clinic to facilitate the movement of senior citizens and PWDs around the building.

According to the council, assistive devices help individuals having difficulties in mobility be able to effectively transact their businesses with the concerned offices of the city government. – PIO release
