Jayjay Yambao fired a gross of 60 to win as overall champion in the men’s division of the 24th Nanoy Ilusorio Cup held at the Baguio Country Club on Dec. 30, 2023 with Ed Basbas and Marilyn Reyes clinching the seniors and ladies divisions with gross of 70 and 75, respectively.

Luis Razon topped the member men’s class A with 68 followed by Franco Aoyong with 69 and Jay Bitao with 70 while the member men’s Bwas topped by Joey Ancheta with 74, edging Glen Flores and Richard Co, who had 81 and 78 in that order.

Richard Chan won the member men’s C with 85 followed by Eric Sulit and Gerald Chua with identical 90 gross.

Euls Austin fired a gross of 71 to win the member senior’s A followed by Pol Mayos and Budz Royeca with 72 and 76 while Mar Bustos has emerged champion in the senior’s B with 77 followed by Lito Butche who also had 77 and Bogs Abubo with 78.

City Mayor Benjamin Magalong won in the senior’s C with 84 followed by the veteran Paeng Ding, also with 84, and Michael Morgan with 83.

Kimberly Laranang was the best player in the member ladies’ division by topping the class A with a net of 69 followed by Rachelle Julian with net 61 and Sherry Yambao with net 63.

Annika Gozum topped the ladies B with net 64 followed by Nora Sy and Lanie Juian with 64 and 65, respectively, while Zoey Laranang clinched the ladies C with net of 63, as Mel Donato and Mikayla Yambao placed second and third with identical net 66.

In the guest’s division, Lito Corpuz scored an even par 61 to win the class A followed by Jeremy Tandoy and Alan Obra with 62 and 64 while Jim Jimeno topped by class B with 73 followed by Nestor Almag with 74 and Ryan Celino with 65.

Chris Ismael won the guest’s class C with 81 followed by Joel Abad with 84 and Donato Bacquian with 82.

The guest’s ladies A was topped by Demma Dulnuan with 84 followed by Jen See with 89 and Jovy Anne Tangalin with 90 while the class B was topped by Zen Tamayo with 87 followed by Marnie Obra with 96 and Iya Umali with 106.

Rolly Tanggalin won the longest drive special award for reaching 313 yards while Nestor Almag won the most accurate drive with Tim Cabuay winning the nearest to the pin.

The golf course inspector award went to newbie Abdularduf.

The tournament’s awarding ceremony also saw the awarding of the best golfers of BCC for 2023 with Jjef Razon awarded as club champion in the men’s A with Derek Bautista claiming the class B title.

Austin is the club’s best senior player while Nida Whybrow topped the ladies’ bracket.
