LAGAWE, Ifugao – The Department of Labor and Employment reminded employers in the private sector that they have until Jan. 15 to submit their compliance report on the 13th month pay law.
DOLE-Ifugao Field Officer Samuel Lasdacan said Presidential Decree 851 requires all employers to pay their rank-and-file employees a 13th month pay equivalent to one-twelfth of the annual basic salary of an employee in a calendar year to be given not later than Dec. 24 of every year.
“Regardless of position, designation or employment status, all rank-and-file employees in the private sector who have worked for at least one month during the calendar year are entitled to receive 13th month pay,” Lasdacan said.
