The City Social Welfare and Development Office has distributed over P26 million worth of relief goods consisting of 200,817 packs from March 17 to April 23.

Of the P26M, over P19M was sourced from the coffers of the city government and over P2M was the total monetized value of relief packs received from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, while P4.9M was the total monetized value of all relief good donations received by the city.

In the report of City Social Welfare and Development Office, the number of food packs varies per barangay depending on the list of vulnerable families assessed and submitted by the barangay officials.

Those in vulnerable sector are members of the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, the poorest of the poor, those who are not capable of feeding themselves; persons with disability, senior citizens, displaced workers, stranded students, pregnant and solo parents.

Non-food items consisting of personal protective equipment, sanitation tents and paraphernalia, hygiene kits, and supplies were also received by the city government from various donors with a total monetized value of over P7.8M.

On the Social Amelioration Program, the City Treasury Office has distributed a total of P103,830,000 covering 19,013 beneficiaries as of April 23. – Jessa Mardy P. Samidan
