SADANGA, Mountain Province – This municipality welcomed 22 families who have returned home through the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2).
The families came back from Baguio City, Manila, Mandaluyong, Tarlac, and Cavite and are now in their home barangays of Sacasacan, Anabel, Belwang, Demang, Saclit, Betwagan, and Poblacion.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Mountain Province led the giving of cash assistance of P50,000 to the family beneficiaries under the agency’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services.
The assistance would serve as seed capital fund for their proposed small business as they start life anew in the province.
Provincial Development Officer II Nympha Akilit said the beneficiaries went through a thorough validation by the DSWD’s social workers and SLP project development officers and underwent a capability building on entrepreneurship before the grant was released.
Sadanga Mayor Albert T. Ayao-ao reminded the beneficiaries to use the cash assistance properly.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the DSWD for the assistance. – Valerie Taguba
