The 2nd Cordillera Dance Festival gets bigger as participants from regions 1, 2, Cordillera, and other areas are invited to participate in the event set on Oct. 23 at the Baguio Convention Center. 

Dancesports Cordillera, Inc. head Charibelle Pingawan said the closed events will be for participants from the Cordillera, regions 1 and 2 only while the open events are for those from other areas of the country.

The categories in the closed events are Latin and standard for solo dancers in the juvenile 1, 2, and junior 1 and 2; while the Latin and standard couple events are for juvenile C, junior C and youth C.

The open events will feature the solo, duo, senior, teacher-teacher, and teacher-student for participants from the Department of Education.

Participants are also advised to strictly secure heel guards for the competition, which is in partnership with the provincial government of Benguet, city government of Baguio, and Dance Results Philippines.

The no vaccine card, no entry policy will be implemented during the event.  

Deadline of submission of entries is on Sept. 26. Entry forms and details about the competition may be downloaded at the Benguet Dancesport Facebook account. 

Witness the event for P300 for general admission and VIP for P500 for the evening and day event. Only 268 VIP and 1,032 general admission seats will be available for both day and night events.

Dancesports Cordillera organized the first dance festival featuring breaking, open style battle and dancesports on April 24 at the Benguet Sports Complex gymnasium which gathered dancers from different parts of Luzon.

The competition was created to provide a platform to breaking athletes and the dance community for them to develop and enhance their skills, abilities, capabilities and character as athletes.

The second dance festival will be a platform for the participants to showcase and sharpen their skills and talents in competitive ballroom dancing. – Ofelia C. Empian
