Three potable water systems worth P9 million will soon be constructed in Ifugao.
The project, which will be implemented under the Philippine Rural Development Project of the Department of Agriculture, include the construction of Cambulo level II water system worth P2.58M, Bangaan level II water system (P3.35M), and Poitan level II water system (P3.15M) – all in Banaue.
As part of the implementation process, a pre-construction conference will be conducted to discuss specific implementation guidelines and processes including the requirements for disbursement, among other things.
Only one potable water system was completed out of the five water system subprojects in Banaue that were approved in 2017.
The rest, including the three water systems were terminated due to “contractor’s abandonment” and had to be “repackaged.”
Another water system project in Lagawe was endorsed by the Regional Project Advisory Board for the issuance of a no objection letter. The proposal is currently under review by the National Project Coordination Office. – Elvy Estacio
