The 30/30 virtual cycling challenge set on Feb. 1 to March 2 has been postponed as a preventive measure against the Covid-19 transmission.
Organizer Virago Bike and Run said the new schedule of the event will be announced in the coming weeks once the government eases restrictions and the general community quarantine (GCQ) status in the Cordillera is lifted.
“We hope that daily life will return to normal as much as possible in the future and together, we will organize more events for our community,” the organizers said.
The virtual run is intended for biking enthusiasts, who will also download the Strava mobile application as the official timer while they may choose the place and time to ride.
Participants may visit Virago Biker & Run events Facebook account to get updates on the new schedule of the event.
Meanwhile, registration for the virtual run “fur-a-cause” organized by the Cordillera Animal Protection Advocates, Inc. is ongoing until Feb. 9.
The run, which is in celebration of the fourth anniversary of CAPA, features the two and four-kilometer distances with registration fees of P250 and P350, respectively.
The participants are allowed to go through road and trails together with their furry pets.
The distance can be completed in a single run or multiple dates of run from Feb. 6 to 9 and the participants are required to send a photo or video of their fur pets while going through the event.
Prizes await winners to be announced on Feb. 10 at the CAPA’s Facebook account. – Ofelia C. Empian
