TAYUM, Abra – The isolation facility at Barangay Gaddani in this town has formally opened and ready to serve Covid-19 suspect and confirmed patients.
Bishop Leopoldo C. Jaucian and Fr. Samuel Baruela blessed the facility and celebrated a mass attended by Gov. Maria Jocelyn Bernos, staff and officials of the Provincial Health Office, Department of Health provincial office, and some employees of the Capitol.
The facility is built within the Cellophil Resources Corporation premises in Gaddani. It has 40 rooms for positive patients and 76 rooms for suspect patients. It also has an office for medical staff, a nurse’s station, and rooms for staff members.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Elmer Bersamin said the facility has an Internet connection through the help of the Department on Information and Communications Technology to allow patients to get in touch with their families while under quarantine.
Bersamin said the Internet connection is of immense help for the monitoring of isolated patients in the facility.
To date, two Covid-19 patients who are in stable condition are recovering in the newly established isolation unit.
