The Accent Wushu Team and the Baguio City National High School Team have ruled the 114th Wushu Baguio Day competition on Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 1.

Accent Wushu Team collected 11 gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals in taulo while BCNHS ruled the sanda event with 9-6-7 medals during the event organized by the Wushu Federation Philippines-Cordillera in partnership with the city government.

Winning gold for Accent Wushu team were Andrie Roy Albert in the optional barehand, Carla Stephanie Tilap intaijijian, Jada Ashley Farnao in optional barehand and first/second/third/optional short weapon, and Ysa Dela Pena in the open category female san lu quan.

Other gold medalists were Hazel Idorot in chang quan/nan quan barehand, Jherisse Athena Calica with two gold medals in the dao shu (7 to 12 years old) and san lu quan, Dencel Parantac in the male san lu quan, Aryxon Zundae Rifani in the female five-steps (7 to 12), and Fawzia Joy Castro in the 24/42/3rd/optional taiji quan.    

Baguio Taichi Action Group (BTAG) came in second with 8-6-6 medals while BCNHS is third place with 3-3-1 medals.

The Manila team won two golds while UFC Wushu gym got 1-5-4 medals; FFC Wushu with two silvers and two bronzes; and the La Trinidad Tai Ji with two bronze medals. 

In sanda, BCNHS ruled the event followed by Lubuagan Wushu Team from Kalinga with 6-3-3 medals; The Lions Nation MMA with 5-1-1 medals; Sablan NHS with 3-5-1; and Faith Fitness Center with 2-1-1 medals.

“We hope that this event has not only provided a platform for showcasing skills but also inspired and motivated each participant to continue their journey in the world of wushu, striving for excellence and encouraging others to follow suit,” the organizers said.
