In a bid to build its own training facilities, the Baguio Obstacle Course Ra-cing (OCR) kids team is asking for kind-hearted individuals to assist them in their endeavor.

Multi-awarded Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Sandi Abahan, who serves as the team’s coach, said the team has a current OCR box but it needs an upgrade.

Abahan they can level the playing field for the members of the kids’ team when joining competitions out of the city if provided with the right equipment, .

The team could also fund race expenses including race fees, transportation, and accommodations especially for the members who do not have the means.

The team is also planning to stage competitions in the city, open to kids around the country.

“By supporting the Baguio OCR kids team, sponsors contribute to the development of future sports stars who may go on to represent the Philippines at global platforms, including the Olympics and world championships,” the group said.

Supporters are also investing in the team not only for the physical fitness of the young members but also in instilling values like discipline, drive, and ambition for the athletes preparing them for success in any field they choose to pursue.  

Abahan said the team, whose ages range from four to 16 years old, started training for the OCR box demonstration in the 2022 Batang Pinoy.

She said the team went on to join and become podium finishers in multiple Spartan Race Kids, Ninja and OCR competitions despite lack of training facilities. Abahan is assisted by elite runner coach Cielo Peñaflor.

Supporters may become a partner, major sponsor, or minor sponsor with equivalent media values. 

Partners may give P30,000 or P15,000 and P20,000 worth of goods or P45,000 or more worth of goods with logo inclusions in all communication platforms and in collaterals, and branding during events.

Major sponsors may give P15,000 or P7,500 and P10,000 worth of goods or P22,000 or more worth of goods with logo inclusions in all communications.

Minor sponsors may give P5,000 or P2,500 plus P3,000 worth of goods or P7,500 or more worth of goods with logo inclusion in major communications.

The team aims to start building the obstacle course on May 31 and start event promotion and registration by June onwards the June 29 to 30 staging of the First Baguio OCR Kids Invitational.
