The Outstanding Women Leaders-Baguio City, in partnership with the city government of Baguio, led the awarding of the 2022 Search for Outstanding Women Leaders at Newtown Plaza Hotel on March 28.
The 2022 OWL awardees are Dr. Rizavel Addawe for community wellbeing and championing research on health issues and Rebecca Lim Nulud for culture and arts: fostering creativity and inspiring youth through cultural dance.
Addawe holds three professorial positions at the University of the Philippines-Baguio and sits as a board member of the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center;
Nulud is an executive council member of the National Committee on Dance of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and a former director and now consultant of the Saint Louis University Center for Culture and Arts.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong, who chairs the Women’s Month celebration, is the keynote speaker for the awarding ceremony. Rep. Mark Go also gave an inspirational message.
The search for OWLs is an institutionalized Women’s Month activity of the city government since 2016 giving recognition to the city’s women leaders who are exemplar in their field of work, inspire members of the community, and contribute to the development of Baguio. – Carlito C. Dar
