TAYUM, Abra – The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Barangay Gaddani here gave load assistance to students to help them in their online classes.

The SK distributed P300 worth of load cards to students of the Gaddani National High School, Holy Ghost School, Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST), University of Northern Philippines, and Saint Louis University.

Gaddani SK Chair Sharylle Mae Alagao said the project aims to support resident-students of the barangay in their distance learning and online classes.

“We have come up with this program since we have witnessed a lot of students in our community struggling with their present mode of learning especially financially since they need money or load for their modules and online classes,” she said.

Alagao said those eligible for the load assistance are students currently enrolled for school year 2020-2021 upon presentation of their enrolment form.

Tiffany Joy Tarona, a first year Civil Engineering student of ASIST-Bangued Campus expressed gratitude to the SK leaders for the assistance.

“I am so much thankful for this. This is a big help for us, students, especially in these difficult times. We are so privileged to have such SK officials here in our barangay who are really concerned with the welfare of their fellow youth,” Tarona said. – Xander Cariño
